IRC Commands!

Here are a few basic commands for the IRC chat room we use on this website.
If you feel we are missing something out on here, please contact us or visit us.
Please, however, remember that these are not there to be used as ways of appealing a ban!

Aliases:
/ns is the same as /msg NickServ
/cs is the same as /msg ChanServ
/bs is the same as /msg BotServ
/ms is the same as /msg MemoServ

NickServ related:
To register type: /ns register password email
You MUST remember your password, and enter a VALID email. This email is not given out (or accessible), but is used to reset your password.
Once you have done this, you must type: /ns identify password every time you logon.
If someone is already using your nickname, or if you had previously disconnected without typing /quit, then you should use the ghost command:
/ns ghost yournickname thenicknamespassword
/ns info nickname all - Gives you information on nickname
/nick nickname - Changes your nickname to nickname
/notice nickname message here - Sends a message to nickname
/msg nickname message - Sends a private message to nickname
/query nickname optional message here - Opens up a privage message window with nickname


BotServ related:
/bs botlist - Will list all bots that you can assign to your channel.
/bs assign #channel nick - After choosing a bot from botlist, assign it to your channel. (e.g. /bs assign #lobby Bot2) (Note: 1 bot per channel)
/bs set #channel dontkickops on/off - The BotServ Bot in your channel, will prevent anyone kicking ops.
/bs set #channel dontkickvoicess on/off - The BotServ Bot in your channel, will prevent anyone kicking voices in your channel.
/bs set #channel greet on/off - If you want auto green on join on or off (greet message set via chanserv)

ChanServ related:

/join #channel - Joins the channel
/part #channel optional reason for leaving - Parts/leaves the channel
/cs register #channel password description - Registers the channel and gives you founder (~). Remember the password!
/cs identify #channel password - This gives you founder (~) in the channel. Only use this if your status has been deleted!
Note: Below are just temporary modes. They remove themselves if the user leaves and rejoins

/mode #channel +v nickname - Voices (+) the user - Voice
/mode #channel -v nickname - Devoices (+) the user - Voice
/mode #channel +h nickname - HOps (@) the user - Half-Operator
/mode #channel -h nickname - DeHOps (@) the user - Half-Operator
/mode #channel +o nickname - Ops (@) the user - Operator
/mode #channel -o nickname - DeOps (@) the user - Operator
/mode #channel +a nickname - SOps (&) the user - Super-Operator
/mode #channel -a nickname - DeSops (&) the user - Super-Operator
/mode #channel +q nickname - Founders (~) the user - Founder Operator
/mode #channel -q nickname - DeFounder (~) the user - Founder Operator
Note: Below are permanent modes. They recieve this mode each time they join - unless deleted
/cs vop #channel add nickname - Adds VOp (+) the user - Voice
/cs vop #channel del nickname - Removes VOp (+) the user - Voice
/cs hop #channel add nickname - Adds HOp (@) the user - Half-Operator
/cs hop #channel del nickname - Removes HOp (@) the user - Half-Operator
/cs aop #channel add nickname - Adds AOp (@) the user - Operator
/cs aop #channel del nickname - Adds AOp (@) the user - Operator
/cs sop #channel add nickname - Adds SOp (&) the user - Super-Operator
/cs sop #channel del nickname - Removes Sop (&) the user - Super-Operator
/cs fop #channel add nickname - Adds F0p (~) the user - Founder
/cs fop #channel del nickname - Removes F0p (~) the user - Founder

/kick #channel nickname reason - Kicks the user with the reason given
Use ? to replace a word. Art? would ban arti, arte and arty but not artemis

Use * as a wildcard. Art* would be arti, artie, artemis, artemisfowl.. etc..
/mode #channel +b nickname - Bans the nickname
/mode #channel +b nickname!ident@host - Bans the user's host
/mode #channel -b nick/host to unban - Unbans the nickname or host
/ban -k #channel nick/host to unban reason - Bans and kicks the nickname from the channel with the specified reason.

/hop - Parts and then rejoins the current channel
/mode #channel +modes - Sets channel modes
/topic #channel topic goes here - Changes the channel topic
/list - Lists all of the channels not (+p or +s)
/rules - Lists the rules of the network. It is recommended to read them
/motd - Shows the onconnect message!


Appeal Against Bans

Appeal against bans on the forums. You must give logs and proof and involve WHY you think you should be unbanned, otherwise your appeal will be denied. (It will be posted if it was accepted or denied.)

Rules

Simple-IRC has some pre-set rules that are designed to make our network a great place to be, we have IRCops that are on the look out for network rule breakers, they will deal out several warnings.
